My Lil Man keeps reminding me when Christmas is :) He has his plans made. He's ready.
I know when Christmas is. I have no plans made. I am ready.
We have two different views of what Christmas day will be like.

This day brings family, friends, food and fun. Most of all we are thankful for every blessing we have received and will receive.
Happy Thanksgiving!
We took Lil Man to the fair in a neighboring town. Nice day to walk around and enjoy the sunshine. The baby goats liked him too :)
T-Ball season has wound to a close. Last game is this evening. Lil Man is warming up for a good game. He wants to try wrestling so we will keep that in mind.
Last Thursday evening at Lil Man's t-ball game, the coach told the boys to run a lap around the inside of the fence surrounding the field before their game started. As they all darted off, Lil Man looked back and saw the smallest player running far behind so he doubled back and ran side by side. I heard the boys mom say Lil Man was now her second favorite player because he cared so much. Very humbling...
Has started. He's enthusiastic... He's full of energy and spirit... He likes to pick the grass off short stop by the handfuls and gets distracted making spiderman imprints in the dirt with his shoes :)
Some have to have coffee, some have to have a soft drink, some require milk or juice. Me?? Sweet iced tea. It's the only morning pick- me- up that'll do.
The embroidery for the quilt square for my mom's Mother's Day gift is finished, pressed, and trimmed up. Here is a pic of the layout with the other blocks (they are 13 years old!) I've made to put in it.
Uh, please excuse the toes :)
I've discovered embroidery soothes my mind just as much as quilting. With one preschooler and a toddler there isnt time right now for me to cut pieces to make quilt tops so I've been keeping busy with this. There's still a lot to do on it before i turn it into a small quilted gift. I'll post the end result when it's completely finished.
We gave chocolates, flowers, little momento gifts, nice dinners, homemade treats, and cards to express our feelings.
The best part for me is spending time with these two little people.
Last week I when i reached into the cabinet and grabbed a pot to fix meal I decided I need to invest in a new set of cookware. My non-stick skillets are not so non-stick anymore. My pots and pans are dented and dinged. When DH and I married, I brought with me the set I bought when I moved into my own home 20 years ago. We did receive a new set when we married 14 years ago. Both sets have seen better days and need to be retired. I pulled out the sets to inspect and behind them i found the cast iron skillets DH brought home a few years after we married. I remember putting them aside thinking it was too much hassle to maintain them.
Well, now I've reconsidered after doing some research online. With 2 cast iron skillets, a dutch oven, grill pan and a griddle I'm seeing the error of my thinking when I set these at the back of the cabinet. The sky's the limit with these. I've discovered my new set of pots and pans.
Today i baked a apple pie in one. Simple. Lined it with the pie crust then added the apples. I placed it in the oven and let it preheat with the oven. The pie came out perfect. Now I'm wondering if I can bake a turkey or ham in a dutch oven- maybe I'll research and find out if there's a cast iron oval roaster. I'm going to google it right now... :)
We are playing outside this afternoon and little man and I had fun with our shadows. I thought he was pretending to be a bird but he says he was pretending to be a duck. My duckling :)
We have been watching Veggie Tales' Beauty and the Beet and munched on nachos. Little Man is playing with his legos he received on Christmas. Dear Hubby and Romie dog are napping.
I am not ready to take down the tree and put away the decorations. I'm not ready to decorate for Valentine's Day. :(
Blah!
